The Ben Stelter School Fundraiser has expanded their team in preparation for the upcoming fall fundraising season, welcoming several new fundraising coordinators to the organization.
Fundraising Coordinators support and organize participating schools in the fundraiser by answering questions, providing advice, and tracking progress. With the expansion, the BSSF has officially reached 53 members.
By mentoring students during fundraising months, Fundraising Coordinators create more confident, capable student leaders who can make a larger impact in bringing Proton Therapy to Canada. To prepare for their essential role, Fundraising Coordinators undergo extensive training to ensure they are ready to prepare and teach others.
Mae Forer, Senior Fundraising Coordinator and Manager of Coordination A shared her feelings on the new recruits.
“I’m very proud of both the new hires and the original teammates. Even though most of them are quite new to the fundraiser, they’ve taken everything in stride and adapted so quickly to everything we’ve been doing.
“It’s looking like it’s going to be a super successful fundraising season and I’m very excited.” Forer additionally remarked.
Moreover, Sophie Chiu, Senior Fundraising Coordinator and Manager of Coordination C, says that this expansion is essential for the BSSF to extend its reach as well as meaningful for members involved. Fundraising coordinators ensure that every school in the program is well equipped for handling fundraising initiatives, making them crucial members of the BSSF.
“I think expanding the BSSF’s team is an exciting step because it allows us to reach more schools and make a bigger impact on our community.” says Chiu. “I’m looking forward to seeing our new fundraising coordinators bring new ideas to help more students develop leadership skills while supporting such an important cause.”
Manager of Coordination B, Senior Fundraiser Eleni Tomaras shared a similar sentiment.
“Our new fundraising coordinators have recently completed their training and have started to work on their first real tasks here at the BSSF.” says Tomaras. “We are so excited to have them on the team with us!”
The team expansion strives towards creating a more organized and structured fall fundraising season, allowing for schools and students to fundraise to their best capabilities to create change.
