With growing support across Edmonton, the 2026 Ben Stelter School Fundraiser (BSSF) has secured five major corporate partners.
The BSSF’s 2026 sponsorship program operates as a partnership where corporations can support the initiative’s efforts in return for some benefits; all of the student-led campaign’s funds are used in support of the Ben Stelter Centre for Proton Therapy & Neuroscience, the first cancer treatment of its kind in Canada.
The fundraiser’s generous sponsors receive benefits throughout the fundraiser such as logo placements, shoutouts, photos with the Edmonton Oilers hockey captain Connor McDavid and signed jerseys from him among others.
The initiative has a tiered sponsor system built on a Title, 3 Gold, and 10 Community sponsors, with respective donations of $5000+, $12,500+, $25,000+. Currently, there is only 1 Gold Sponsorship and 7 Community Sponsorship opportunities available.
The 2026 fundraiser’s Title Sponsor has been revealed to be Scandinavian Building Services. The Edmonton-based company leads in commercial cleaning, janitorial, and facility maintenance solutions across North America with their 70 years of experience and 10,000+ dedicated professionals.
One of 2026’s Gold Sponsors is La-Z-Boy Edmonton. The furniture retailer founded in 1927 is famous in North America for its premium quality of comfort and home design. Edmonton’s own La-Z-Boys have charted as two of the 10 highest performing branches in the company’s furniture network.
The other Gold Sponsor for the BSSF this year is Ledcor. The infrastructure company has built North America through construction, mining, transportation, telecommunications, and power, becoming a central piece in development.
So far, the BSSF has also acquired a patron Community Sponsor: OEG Entertainment. This is the direct parent company to the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. The franchise has always had strong ties with the fundraiser through their deep connection to their superfan Ben Stelter, and the Oilers’ captain Connor McDavid’s support.
The Oilers have donated valuable items that have become a staple to the BSSF, including signed items and a visit from McDavid among others.
Boston Pizza has also become one of 2026’s community sponsors. The North American pizza chain has always been important to schools in the initiative: the company sponsors a school wide pizza party every fundraising year for the school that has raised the most money in the fall program.
The city’s very own Edmonton Elks from the Canadian Football League have also sponsored the 2026 run as a Community Sponsor. The Elks have donated 4 VIP suite tickets for their 2027 season to the organization this year.
The Ben Stelter School Fundraiser is building a successful campaign with these 6 sponsors, who are committed to generosity and what the fundraiser stands for. But with 8 more sponsorships still available, Edmonton corporations still have time to help bring Proton Therapy to Canada.
